Adult Education is a non-credit program that prepares student for the GED庐 test.

  • Classes range from $37 to $158 (see costs in class schedule)
  • Classes focus on basic skills in reading, writing, and math
  • Some classes require purchase of a textbook
  • Classes are open to students 16 and older (students under 18 must submit an official release from their high school before registering)
  • Students age 16-20 may qualify for Yes to College

Steps to enroll

Please read the information below and follow all steps. Fall term starts on September 22.

1. Apply to 不良研究所

Complete the admissions form. Fall admissions deadline is Wednesday, September 10.

2. Complete CASAS testing

GED-seeking students are required to complete CASAS testing. This test helps us assess skills for placement and evaluate your progress in the program.

  • Take both the reading test and the math test (each test takes 60-90 minutes)
  • Complete tests by the Thursday before the first day of classes
  • To sign up, you鈥檒l need:
    • Student name: your name
    • Student ID: your 不良研究所 ID number (starts with a G)
    • Email: either a personal or 不良研究所 email address
    • College name: 不良研究所

Remote testing

You’ll need a Windows computer (test is not compatible with phone, tablet, Chromebook, or Mac.) Plan 90 minutes for each: Goals Reading and Goals Math. Please contact us if there are scheduling issues.聽Book an appointment:

3. Attend聽GED庐聽orientation

Attend a GED庐 orientation even if you haven’t yet completed testing. At the orientation, you will:

  • Meet your Adult Ed Navigator, who will help you get started and register for classes
  • Learn about the GED庐 tests
  • Get tips about technology and online learning
  • Ask questions about the program
In-person orientation
  • Sylvania: no in-person orientation, sign up for a
  • Forest Grove High School: 1401 Nichols Lane, Room 2102. All sessions at 6pm. Dates: Wednesday September 3, Monday September 8, Wednesday September 10, Monday September 15, and Wednesday September 17
Remote orientation

Plan 2 hours for the remote orientation.

  • Wednesday September 3, 6pm

4. Consider study options

Classes are held in-person and online. Your Adult Ed Navigator can help you decide which is right for you. For more about online classes, see online GED庐 classes.聽Spanish GED庐 classes are offered at Southeast and Willow Creek. The steps to enroll are different: see Spanish GED庐.

5. Paying for classes

Be ready to pay for your classes at the time of registration. Class fees range from $37 to $158 per term depending on your class schedule. If you use SNAP benefits or the Oregon Health Plan, you may qualify for a class fee waiver. Waivers are covered at the orientation.

Learn more about the GED庐 certificate

A GED庐 certificate can be earned by those who have not completed high school and who are at least 16 years old. The GED庐 certificate is accepted as a substitute for a high school diploma by many employers, apprenticeship programs, community colleges, and universities. It is used all over the United States and Canada, although passing scores may vary from state to state.

GED庐 is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education and may not be used without permission. The GED庐 and GED Testing Service庐 brands are administered by GED Testing Service LLC under license.不良研究所 provides an聽Annual Security Report聽meeting Clery Act requirements. The report shares safety programs, policies, and crime data for the past three years. It also includes steps you can take to maintain a safe campus for everyone.
