Prepare for the GED庐 test with Adult Education classes.

  • Adult Education is a non-credit program.
  • Fees for range from $37 to $158 per term (see costs in the class schedule).
  • Classes focus on basic skills in reading,聽writing, and聽math.
  • You may need to buy books.
  • Classes are open to anyone 16 and older.
  • If you’re under 18, you’ll need to get an official release from your high school and submit it to 不良研究所聽 Enrollment Services before registering for classes.
  • If you’re 16-20, you may qualify for Yes to College.

Steps to enroll

Please read all information carefully and all steps listed below. The first day of Summer term is June 23.

1. Apply to 不良研究所

Complete the admissions form. Summer admissions deadline is Wednesday, June 11.

2. Complete CASAS testing

GED-seeking students are required to complete CASAS testing. Testing helps us assess your skills for placement and evaluate your progress through the program.

  • Take both reading and math tests. Each test takes about 60-90 minutes.
  • Attend an orientation even if you haven’t completed testing yet.
  • Complete CASAS testing by the Thursday before the first day of classes.
  • To sign up, you鈥檒l need the following information:
    • Student name: your name
    • Student ID: your 不良研究所 ID number (starts with a G)
    • Email: either a personal or 不良研究所 email address
    • College name: 不良研究所

Remote testing

Before scheduling, please be aware you’ll need a Windows computer (test not compatible with phone, tablet, Chromebook, or Mac.) If there’s an issue with scheduling, please reach out to us.

  • Sign up:
  • Plan 90 minutes for each: Goals Reading and Goals Math
3. Attend聽GED庐聽orientation

At the orientation, you will:

  • Meet the Adult Ed Navigator who will help you get started and register for classes.
  • Learn more about GED庐 tests.
  • Get tips on how to manage technology while learning remotely.
  • Ask questions about classes and GED庐 testing.
In-person orientation

  • Sylvania: no in-person orientation, sign up for a remote session
Remote orientation

Plan 2 hours for the remote orientation.

  • Wednesday, May 28 at 10am
  • Tuesday, June 3 at 6pm
  • Wednesday, June 4 at 10am
  • Tuesday, June 10 at 10am
  • Wednesday, June 11 at 6pm
  • Tuesday, June 17 at 6pm
4. Consider options for study

Classes will be held in person with limited remote sections available. Your Adult Ed Navigator can help you decide what is right for you. If you want to study online, see more about online GED庐 classes.

5. Paying for classes

Be ready to pay for your classes at the time of registration. Class fees range from $37 to $158 per term depending on your class schedule.聽If you receive food stamps, the Oregon Health Plan, or have lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may qualify for a class fee waiver. We’ll discuss waivers at the orientation.

Learn more about the GED庐 certificate

A GED庐 certificate can be earned by those who have not completed high school and who are at least 16 years old. The GED庐 certificate is accepted as a substitute for a high school diploma by many employers, apprenticeship programs, community colleges, and universities. It is used all over the United States and Canada, although passing scores may vary from state to state.

GED庐 is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education and may not be used without permission. The GED庐 and GED Testing Service庐 brands are administered by GED Testing Service LLC under license.
