Details about this class
- Since the class is only once a week, attendance is important, but I do post the recordings of class sessions for your review.
- I can't take late work but you can always submit partially completed work or make up any points you miss using unlimited extra credit: tutoring online or in person or the library, online or in person. There are no tests, and assignments are open so that you can practice documents relevant to your own field of study. The class is designed so that no matter your major or career goals, you can adjust assignments accordingly.
- I grade on a 1000 point scale, so you can miss 100 and get an A, 200 and get a B, 300 and get a C, etc. Your grade is yours to control.
- WELCOME TO YOU ALL!
Technology
- We meet on in Zoom Tues eves from 6-8:50PM, and the rest of the work is done on your own, online. That means you need access to D2L, a camera and microphone, word processing software and Google, and a computer that will allow you to view and hear video.
- This is a 4-unit course condensed from 10 weeks to 8, so expect 6-10 hours of work a week including the time spent together in class. Be sure you make time outside of class to study/work, and that you have a place to do that work that is quiet and distraction free.
- No tests! This is a social, collaborative, and discussion-based class. You will work with others and learn from one another.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
