Details about this class

This is a fully online course with no required meeting days or times, though I will be available to meet with students via Zoom throughout the term during my dedicated office hours. 

The following book is required for the course and is available at the 不良研究所 Bookstore: Thinking Socratically: Thinking Critically About Everyday Issues, 3rd edition (2011). Authors: Schwarze and Lape. ISBN: 978-0205098019.  

Course Information

Some of the question we'll address in the course include:

  • What makes a good argument "good"?
  • How can I improve my own critical thinking?
  • What are some common mistakes in arguments, and how can I identify and avoid them?

Course assignments consist of weekly Study Questions (30%), 2 Exams (42%), an Argument Analysis Assignment (21%), and a Self-Reflection Assignment (7%).
