Details about this class
The required textbook for this class is Experience Music (6th edition), by Katherine Charlton, and it will be available at the 不良研究所 Sylvania bookstore. All of the pertinent links, referenced below, will be provided at the beginning of the term. Please note that there are several ways to gain access to the textbook that we will use, and that renting the e-book is the most affordable option.
Physical copy:
If you purchase the book from the 不良研究所 Sylvania book store it will come with an access code to sign up for a Connect account, which we will be using to access our listening examples, as well as an electronic version of the book.
You are not required to purchase the version of the book with the access code, it is available to you so that you can have all of the listening examples in the same place. If you feel that you can find the listening examples another way then you are welcome to do that. You can also choose to purchase the book elsewhere, and then purchase the access code separately.
If you purchase an older edition of the book please note that the page numbers referred to within our course refer to the pages found in the 5th edition. Some of the required reading will have different page numbers in older editions of the book.
Technology
There is no additional technology required for this class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
