Mandatory First Week Assignments: There are two mandatory assignments that must be completed by the first Wednesday of the term. Student must complete both of these assignments by this due date to keep their spot in the class.

Virtual Math 20 Informational Session via ZOOM (strongly encouraged, but not required): Monday, June 23, 2025, 2:15pm-13:00pm. ZOOM link will be provided within the class site.

Early Course Access: Students will have access to the course the Wednesday before the term begins. This will allow each student to spend time getting used to the course and to confirm the course will be a good fit. It will also allow students to begin working on the course early, if there is a need or interest to do so.

Textbook/e-book: Before purchasing your text materials, please read the textbook/e-book information in the syllabus That you have access to that Friday before the term starts. The syllabus will explain how you can a) get two-week temporary access to the e-text and all online learning materials right away, and b) how to purchase the required term-long access to the e-text and all online learning materials. Note e-book/technology access costs approximately $100 for the term.

Proctored Exams: Proctored exams are one of the many assessment tools used in MTH/STAT courses to assess student learning. For in-person sections, exams are proctored in-person on campus during class time. For remote sections, exams are primarily proctored virtually by the instructor in Zoom during remote class time. For online sections, exams are primarily proctored virtually by the instructor in Zoom on dates/times scheduled by the instructor. 

The exams for this class will be proctored virtually by me (your instructor). You need to attend one of the listed Zoom sessions to have your space and technology checked and approved prior to taking the exams virtually. These Zoom test prep sessions are Monday, 7/21, 2:15pm-3:00pm or 5:15pm-6:15pm

The exams are scheduled on the following dates and times; please make every concerted effort to attend the virtually proctored exams listed below. 

• Midterm Performance Exam Session on Monday, 7/28, 2:15pm-4:30pm or 5:15pm-7:30pm via Zoom. The exam sessions will begin with zoom technology checks. 
• Final Performance Exam Session on Monday, 8/25, 5:15pm-6pm via Zoom. The exam session will begin with zoom technology check. 

To have your exam proctored virtually, you must fully read and understand the  and meet the technology/environment requirements; technology support will not be provided on exam day. Virtual proctoring was designed and piloted in collaboration between Math, Online Learning, and the Testing Center. 

If you do not meet the requirements for virtually proctored exams, prefer to take your exams in-person, and/or have an unavoidable scheduling conflict, please contact me as soon as possible. Alternative testing arrangements can be made for virtual or in-person proctoring at a testing center given adequate notice and depending on testing center capacity and availability. Scheduling appointments with a testing center and communicating with the instructor is the responsibility of the student, as well as paying any associated fees with using a non-²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù testing center.

Students will also be expected to be able to print out or hand copy, then handwrite, on weekly worksheets, and upload them.
