Details about this class

Textbook is NOT required, but is highly recommend, however any edition (8th edition or later) will be fine.

This class will expect, but not require, that you are available during the scheduled class period. Except for three specific days (first day of class, midterm, and final exam). Questions regarding the material will be taken during the scheduled time. Lectures will be recorded and posted to the course D2L site.  The class will be a mixture of synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

Homework is required. Problems will be given, but how much effort you put in is up to you.  You do not have to do EVERY problem, but there will be extra credit available for doing more problems than expected.

There will be homework and a midterm and final exam.

If you have any questions, please contact the Instructor, William "Ike" Eisenhauer (william.eisenhauer@pcc.edu).  Thank you.

Technology

  • D2L will be used as the course website. Students need a computer and internet access.
  • Google CoLab (freely available) will be used to demonstrate Python based solutions to some problems
  • Students will need technology, such as CamScanner on a phone or a scanner, for example, to take a photo or scan a sheet and upload it as a *.pdf file to D2L.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
