Everyday Chemistry CH100 is a course that is completely online/remote (you never need to come to campus).  There is no textbook required for the lecture portion of the course.  Lecture content and homework assignments will be posted on D2L class website. 

The lab experiments are performed using a lab kit that you MUST purchase and have delivered to your home by Week 4 of the term. The lab kit costs ~$120 and can be purchased directly from Carolina (lab kit supplier) or a voucher with a code can be purchased with financial aid from the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Bookstore and then the code entered into the Carolina website.  Note: costs will be higher when purchasing through the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Bookstore.  To minimize your expenses, purchasing the lab kit directly from Carolina is preferred.  The ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Bookstore cannot physically stock the lab kits. It is required that you take selfie photos of yourself doing each experiment to verify you are completing the weekly lab work independently.  

The weekly hourly demands for this online/remote course are as follows:

• 2 hours to go over online Context /Lecture and complete the embedded questions.
• 1-2 hours to complete the weekly discussion post
• 3 hours to complete the weekly lab

You must receive a passing grade (70%) in the lab portion of the course in order to pass the entire course.

Students will need to have reliable Internet connection for this Online/Remote class. The class assignments will be submitted as pdf, doc or docx files.  Students will be using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel for graphing assignments.  The Google Doc and Google Sheets are free for all ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù students using ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù student email.
