Details about this class

This course is a broad overview of the various theories that have been developed and practiced throughout history.  There are a lot of good counseling methods, and this course is a summary of the general categories, characteristics, and practical applications of the variety of ways a counselor approaches human development and psychological healing.  The points needed to pass this course are primarily earned by completing weekly multiple-choice quizzes and submitting written journal assignments.  Students often recognize philosophies and methods from personal or professional experience and share these insights during class lectures and discussions.  Students are encouraged to develop opinions and preferences for various theoretical perspectives and practices and incorporate these discoveries into their professional development plan.
