Details about this class
This course requires attendance at synchronous meetings online (at the times indicated in the course schedule) as well as completion of asynchronous assignments and assessments. Attendance at the synchronous meetings is mandatory.
The time commitment for this course will be equivalent to the time that you would usually spend in the classroom on campus (4 hours per week) plus time spent on studying and completing a homework load appropriate for a 4-credit, college-level course (about two hours outside of class for each credit hour). This time commitment includes both synchronous work (e.g. class meetings, practice with classmates) and asynchronous work (e.g. studying, homework). Additionally, note that this class only meets 50% of the time. This adds both freedom to do more of the work independently, and commitment to complete more of the work outside of our meeting times.
Language courses at 不良研究所 focus on oral proficiency. A significant amount of class time is devoted to speaking activities. Students taking Spanish 101, should also enroll in Spanish 111-c (Conversation). This one credit course is not required, but is strongly recommended.
Technology
Required technology for this course includes a computer with a reliable Internet connection, microphone, and webcam. If you have questions or concerns about the required technology, please contact your instructor. Platforms for this course include Zoom, D2L Brightspace, and VHL Supersite (included in the textbook package sold through the 不良研究所 bookstore).
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
