Details about this class

Hello students! My name is Debi Cozzoli and I am so thrilled to be offering PSY 202 - Introduction to Psychology II as a web course this spring term. In this course we will explore the areas of Emotion, Motivation, Personality, Psychological Disorders, Therapy and Treatments for Psychological Disorders, Health Psychology, Social Psychology, and Human Development within the field of psychology. As a general education class, this can be a great class to take to meet transfer requirements at four year institutions.

A bit about my approach - my online course is designed in weekly modules. Each module includes a reading assignment, note slides, lecture materials (including mini-lecture videos), supplemental films and video clips, as well as graded assignments. Students should expect to complete the following graded activities within each module: a written assignment, an interactive activity called a PhotoVoice, and a quiz or exam. Students are encouraged to also complete an optional journal page assignment for extra credit within each module. The majority of the graded assignments have a deadline of 11:59 pm on Sunday except the PhotoVoice which have an initial deadline of 11:59 pm on Friday.

Students do not have to purchase a textbook for this class. All assigned readings will come from an Open Educational Resource which is available online for free. However some students like having a physical copy of this resource, so the physical textbook is available to the bookstore for students interested in purchasing this option.

Students who have any questions about what to expect in this course are welcomed to reach out to me. I love hearing from students before the term begins!
