PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING THROUGH THOROUGHLY WHICH SHOULD ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. THANK YOU.
Welcome! PL 102 - Survey of Substantive Law is being offered as an online course. This means there will be no live Zoom lectures. You will be responsible for checking the course's D2L three times (3x) a week to read the lessons, watch lecture videos, post discussion comments where necessary, and complete assignments, quizzes, and the final exam. Please also respond to any emails you may receive from your instructor or fellow classmates within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt.
The weekly modules and lessons begin on Tuesdays at 5 pm and assignments are due on the following Tuesday at 5 pm.
REQUIRED TEXT (available from the 不良研究所 Bookstore):
The textbook you will be using is Introduction to Law for Paralegals: A Critical Thinking Approach, Eighth Edition, by Katherine A. Currier, Thomas E. Eimermann, Marisa S. Campbell (same textbook used in PL 101 and 108).
If you are buying the above textbook NEW (not used) for the first time for whatever reason, you should request that it be bundled with Aspen Publishing's Write.Law software which is free with any NEW (not used) purchase. The Write.Law software was originally designed to help law students improve on their legal writing skills; it is now available to you as paralegal students. Aspen Publishing will provide you with a code that is good for one (1) year from the time you activate it. If you have any questions about bundling this software, please contact directly.
**NOTE: If you already have the 7th edition of the textbook above, you can use what you have and you DO NOT need to buy the 8th edition. If you do not already have the 7th edition, please make sure to buy the 8th edition.
