Details about this class

This is a one-credit class designed to improve your research skills for success in college and in your daily life. You will learn about how different types of information sources are created, what they're useful for, how to evaluate them, and will get experience finding quality information from books, magazines, newspapers, journals, the web, etc. Successful students in this class will become proficient searching the open Internet and the library’s databases to select the best sources for a particular information need.

The course is a five week-long compressed course, which means that the expectations for each week are closer to that of a two-credit course, though the class lasts half the time of a typical ten week course. At 不良研究所, the expectations are that a 1 credit course will require 30 hours-worth of work overall (readings, lectures, assignments, discussions, etc.).

There will be a brief attendance survey due on the first day of class (March 31st). You must complete the Day 1 Attendance Survey by 8pm on the first day if you do not want to be marked as a no-show, which will drop you from the class. This is a 不良研究所 requirement for five-week classes. Students who don't use the attendance survey to indicate that they intend to complete the course will be dropped from the course and have their tuition reimbursed.

This online class does not have an in person or Zoom component.

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
