Welcome to HE 242: Stress and Human Health!

My name is Beth Gebstadt and I will be your instructor.

This 4-credit class has two components:

  • Independent online learning that includes reading, watching videos, taking quizzes, and other manageable activities that will prepare you before coming to the Zoom Sessions on Thursdays (approximately 2-4 hours).
  • A required Zoom Class (Thursdays, 4:00-5:50) that includes collaborative work with classmates using google apps; interactive activities such as Kahoot, Hypothes.is, and VoiceThread; and class discussions about current concepts; and applied practices. During the Zoom Sessions, we will dive into the more challenging concepts, work with other classmates, and discuss and reflect upon the course content. This collaborative approach requires students to remain engaged. At the end of each Zoom Session, students will turn in their in class discussion assignment.

All of the class resources can be accessed through D2L (the online platform).

If this style of learning sounds like something you enjoy, great! If not, this course has multiple sections using different modalities to choose from.
