Details about this class
This class invites us to consider the aging mind from a life course perspective and a bio-psycho-social approach. We will explore what recent research can tell us about normal age-related changes and how we can support healthy minds through physical lifestyle choices (exercise, nutrition, etc.), and being socially engaged. We will review impacts of trauma on our minds, including racism, ageism and other forms of discrimination. We will identify ways in which older adults can participate in life-long learning, creative expression, spiritual growth, and connect to purpose and meaning.
