Details about this class

In this course, we examine the regional and international significance of the Middle East’s major strategic features and vital natural resources in shaping the contemporary geopolitics of the region. Among geopolitical issues covered are the US involvement in the region; the Arab Israeli conflict and its impacts on regional uncertainties; the Arab, Persian, and Turkish rivalry over economic and political dominance of the region; national democratic movements; terrorist groups; and human rights issues, including the status of women and minorities.

REQUIRED BOOKS: You need to have access to these two required books to complete our course assignments.
