Details about this class
This course is designed to provide an overview of the role of police in the United States. It introduces students to the history of policing and crime, theories of crime causation, and implications on agency policy and practice. This course will examine criminal trends, organizational structures, common policies, current strategies and tactics often used in the course of policing equitably, affectively, and efficiently.
This is a fully online course where students are expected to enter the course D2L page at least three times a week to check announcements, engage in discussion posts, study the learning materials, complete assignments, and complete quizzes. For each credit hour, a student should expect to spend about 2-3 hours each week during the term.
Technology
