From my personal experience of building a significant online following for my own business, I am excited to help students connect the concepts of marketing to the world of social media!

Students can look forward to learning directly from my experience in the workplace of what works and what doesn't in the current realm of marketing on social platforms. We will accomplish this together by participating in the following:

• Directly engaging with social media platforms to apply course material
• Creating social media marketing posts and ads from start to finish
• Using software used by social media managers
• Analyzing real-world data from social media campaigns and discussing effectiveness of each

This course is asynchronus and will include the following on a weekly basis:  instructor video discussion of the content, outside video and podcast content, textbook readings, assignments, and quizzes.

This class will require the following:

• Access to social media platforms
• Ability to capture screenshots
• Ability to capture photos and videos on a smartphone
• Use of Canva - with a free student account
• Microsoft Office - with free access to the software

This class may require the following:

• Use of Hootsuite - with a free student account
